An encouraging start to 2012 as far as holidays in Spain are concerned with the 10% increase of Britons taking a holiday in Spain from 2011 set to continue into 2012.
Basically Spain was seen as safer than the likes of Tunisia and Egypt who suffered from the political upheavals, but also cheaper and offering better value holidays in the sun.
2012 is set to be more of the same as Britons are expected stay away from the Middle East and North Africa when booking their holidays for 2012, opting for familiar destinations such as Spain and Portugal, with more than one in 10 UK holidaymakers planning trips to Spain next year.
